Legal Information - Wills, Estates and Trusts
Estate Planning generally addresses the need to prepare a sound plan for protection of your family and the distribution of your assets at death, but it also may address how you can effectively manage your assets while still alive and avoid the need for a lengthy probate of the bulk of your assets at death. If you die without a will your assets are distributed according to the laws of "intestate succession" without regard to your personal wishes.
